The Waldo County Amateur Radio Association (WCARA) is a group of local hams dedicated to promoting and enjoying the hobby of Ham Radio.
First orginized in 1988, WCARA is located in the Emergency Operations Center at the corner of Miller and Congress St. in Belfast. Our club meetings are held the first Monday of each month with radio net's held the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Monday of the month.
The club repeater is 147.27 and has a 136.5hz tone.

ARES / RACES
WCARA is heavily involved in ARES / RACES projects and encourages all it's members (well....all hams in general) to be ready for emergencies by having backup power, antennas and other assorted supplies so that in the event of an emergency, they can be a part of the solution rather than a part of the problem.
